When your plan A is gone, there is always Plan B to support. Back Up Ring is used to support the other Rod Seal and prevent the oil from leaking. 2 different type of Back up Ring is used in different place. Within the same application, is good to use both type. Bronze is used after the Rod Seal as the first pressure will be at this point. The rest of the ring back up can use Teflon material. Hmmm this is from my opinion. Having Said that, if you would like to use all the back up ring with bronze material, you may do so but i wouldn't suggest my consumer to waste their money unneccesarily ^^
